The Heart of Vraja:
Virtual Women's Retreat
November 22nd – 24th, 2024
Broadcasting LIVE from Vrindavan, India
Elevate your consciousness and invite the essence of the holy Dham into your everyday life, from wherever you are in the world.
Connect with women at every age and stage of bhakti, and come together in service to the Divine Couple, Sri Sri Radha Govinda.
Together we will explore the secrets of bhajana and deepen our sadhana practice by awakening the moods of Vrndavana in our hearts.
This festival is a humble effort to create a bridge between Vrindavan, India and our growing community in the Pacific Northwest. From this, we aspire to create sister Heart of Vraja festivals that ripple out to other communities, and cultivate shared values through spiritual education, support, mentorship, and seva opportunities.
The 2024 Heart of Vraja virtual women’s retreat includes three days of live online hari-katha, workshops, discussions, and more, that allows you to bring the transformational experience of a festival in Vrindavan into your own home. Hear from our honored elders — some broadcasting live from Vrindavana — and others with Vrindavan in their hearts, who offer us guidance through the rich, ancient philosophy and practices of Bhakti Yoga.
During our 2024 online retreat, you will have access to interactive workshops that explore ways to integrate devotional practices into your daily life through mediums such as kirtan, hari-katha, dance, and poetry.

Manjari dasi
Vrndavan Vilasini dasi
Raised in the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava movement which was introduced to the West by Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, Manjari dasi was profoundly influenced by the dynamic atmosphere of kirtan and devotional service she grew up with in the temple communities of Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She first traveled to India in 1994 where she met her spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja, and received initiation from him in the sacred village of Vrindavan.
She was transformed by his teachings, his impeccable character, and by experiencing kirtan in his divine association. In 2001 she answered a calling and dedicated her life to service, intensifying her bhakti-yoga practice (sādhana) and studying philosophy, devotional painting, bhajan and kirtan under the direct guidance and training of her guru and her mentors.
Dividing her time between India and North America, Manjari continues to create artwork for the books of her guru; and with his blessings, she established the Rupa-Sanatana Gaudiya Foundation to nourish spiritual communities, promote education and publishing, and to support women in bhakti.
Swati dasi’s experience in Bhakti-yoga began in London when she received harinama and diksa initiation from Srila Prabhupada in 1970 and 1971, respectively. Guided by his grace, she traveled to Vrndavana in 1973, where she received deep impressions of Radha Krsna worship, Vaisnava culture, and cuisine.
She went on to reside in Mayapur dhama until 1977, where she had the opportunity to cook for Srila Prabhupada and also received darshan of several senior Vaisnavas including Srila Gaura Govinda Maharaja, Srila Sridhara Maharaja, and Srila Gurudeva (Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja). For the next several years she traveled between India and America engaged in pujari seva, cooking, and teaching beginning Sanskrit to young students.
In 1991, Swati dasi settled in Eugene, Oregon, co-founding Golden Avatara Catering with her husband. From 1996 to 2010 she received guidance and inspiration from Srila Gurudeva, who directed her to acquaint herself more deeply with the writings of our Goswamis, headed by Sri Rupa and Raghunath. Now located in the serene countryside of Veneta, OR, she continues to assist devotees in the local community and aspires to deepen her own practice of sadhana bhakti under guidance of her beloved diksa and siksa gurus.
Niscintya dasi’s spiritual journey began in 1971 as a sixteen year-old highschool student when she received a Back to Godhead magazine and a Sunday feast invitation card while on an escalator in New York City. She personally experienced the transformative power of transcendental literature as she began studying Srila Prabhupada’s books and also associating with devotees long distance through correspondence. Two years later, in December 1973, she received initiation from Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles, where she served in the art department and in many other services.
Over four decades, she learned how to balance her spiritual journey, family, and her career as an art teacher and entrepreneur. Amid raising three kids and now relishing grandparenthood, she highlights the vitality of questioning, trusting inner guidance, developing loving relationships with Vaisnavas, and chanting. Now retired and based in the New Braja community in Badger, California, Niscintya dasi volunteers at the New Braja Village School, where she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation with creativity, love, and devotion.
Syamarani dasi, also known as Jadurani dasi, is a renowned Bhakti Art painter and one of the foremost teachers of bhakti-yoga today. She is a revered spiritual guide and leader, currently based in Miami, Florida, where she has established an ashram and bhakti art gallery. Syamarani dasi is an early disciple of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of ISKCON, and she is a prominent student of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja. In 2018, she received the Humanitarian Award from Deepak Chopra at the Bhakti-Fest for her exceptional devotional art — spanning over five decades and touching millions of lives around the world, and for her efforts to alleviate suffering through the teachings of bhakti-yoga.
As a British-born Punjabi Indian, Radhika was raised in the Bhaktivedanta Manor community in London and grew up with strong values of service from both the Bhakti and the Sikhi traditions. In 1999 she was guided to Srila Gurudeva and received initiation from him. It was his direct instruction to her to earn a post-graduate certificate in education and to teach. Radhika now works as a teacher of Philosophy, Religion, and Ethics at the first state-funded Hindu faith school in England. She is an artist, a creative writer, a seeker of truth, and a proud mother to a multi-talented teenage girl who helps her constantly reflect on her own spiritual journey.
Rati Manjari Dasi (Sadhana Gupta) was born and raised in Mathura, India, where, as a child in the 1970s, she took initiation from Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, along with her entire family. She received deities of Sri Radha and Krsna from him at that time and began practicing bhakti-yoga under his guidance. As her spiritual journey deepened, Rati Manjari embraced the renounced path and became a dedicated brahmacarini, beginning to preach the mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu while studying at college.
Now based in Sri Vrndavan Dham, she travels throughout India, sharing her wisdom through Bhagavat Saptaha lectures and inspiring communities with her devotion. Her talks are infused with the unique charm and love of Vraja, and she shares this mood wherever she goes, softening the hearts of all who encounter her. Known for her patience and kindness, Rati Manjari offers her time and encouragement as a mentor and friend to younger women on the path of bhakti, guiding them with compassion and nurturing their spiritual growth.

Vrindavana Vilasini dasi
Vrindavan Vilasini dasi’s spiritual journey began as a young hippie, seeking cosmic consciousness but feeling adrift and unfulfilled. In June 1972, fortune smiled upon her when she met her spiritual master, Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in Portland, Oregon. Soon after, she received initiation from him at the New Dwarka temple in Los Angeles, committing herself to book distribution and harinama-sankirtan. She quickly emerged as a leader within the women’s ashram, and later embraced the sacred service of deity worship, developing a profound attachment to dressing the divine forms of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna.
In 1975, she was blessed to participate in the historic opening of the Krsna Balaram Mandir in Vrindavan, India. Though she felt Vrindavan was her true home, it would be almost a decade before she could permanently reside there and fulfill this longing. It was in Vrindavan in 1989 where she met Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja, an encounter that sparked a new transformation. Under his guidance, she deepened her practice and joined his global tours, sharing insights on bhakti-yoga and inspiring others.
Having recently obtained Indian citizenship, she now lives in Sri Vrindavan dham along the sacred Yamuna River. Her days are dedicated to chanting, reading, and offering spiritual guidance to all who come to her doorstep.
